I moved to Philadelphia in July 2020, the heart of the pandemic, not knowing a single person in the whole city. The first few months were the loneliest I've ever been, working virtually and having no way to connect to people within the city. I ran into my neighbor wslking her dog in the fall, while I was walking my dog too. We realized we went the same route to the rail park every day. We started going on walks on a schedule together every single day and through that, met the other dogs of the neighborhood (and their human counterparts) that walked that same regular time. This community became my first friends and are captured in the Rail Park Rascals Instagram page. This completely changed my entire experience of living in the city & the rail park became a place of refuge, rest, and joy.
